Writing retreat.

Webster, New York

There are birds everywhere here. A stray black cat came by to sit by my side. She is owned by no one, but knows everyone. I saw a deer on a night bike ride. I am surrounded by noise, but writing is not about solitude here. Writing is the noise inside me and all around me. The people, the roads, the trees, the air….

“Writing is not some quiet, closet act.”
―  Patti Smith

It’s a much needed temporary escape.

My first of two trips to New York State this year. Next one will be for writing too, but mainly for adventuring in NYC, and a mini-reading circuit as well.
